When I tried to use this to update AVG 8 during the install process I was asked to put in my windows CD which I can not find. Did you have to do this or am I missing something. I am getting the notification notices from AVG to upgrade to 8.

Hi Louis, try this URL for the CNET download site. Someone posted it on anothermailing list, and it worked for me. Before you click on it, please read therest of my message, below: http://www.download.com/AVG-Anti-Virus-Free-Edition/3000-2239_4-10320142.html?part=dl-AVGAntiVir&subj=dl&tag=buttonWhen you activate the executable file to begin the installation, be ready touse your Jaws cursor on some install wizard dialogues to read the details, and once or twice to check or uncheck options. Be careful about this anddon't just click Next every time you hear Jaws say it. You may have to foolaround with the Jaws cursor a little to find a few of the controls or to check or uncheck something with a left mouse click (num pad slash when you're using Jaws cursor), but just be patient and see it through. Also, the install wizard will see that you've got version 7.5 on your computer and, if you just click okay or yes, will uninstall it as it installs the new version. Hope that works for you. If you find anything puzzling about the new AVG Free Edition Version 8 interface, just ask and I or someone else can help. I've just finished exploring the new interface, which is consolidated into one screen instead of being split between a general control center screenand a scan screen. It's not hard to figure out if you explore the menus andread the help files. Also, if you are running Jaws 9, the latest version (install the very recent update if you don't have it yet),you shouldn'treally have to switch to the Jaws cursor very much, or at all. Just explorea little and see. Last, if you launch the interface from its desktop icon or the system tray and it doesn't seem anything is happening even though Insert T may say you're there, alt tab and it will come into focus so you can deal with it. Hope this helps. This is my first day with it, and I think it's going towork fine for me and not be a hassle as some people have said it's been forthem.----- Original Message ----- From: "Louis Lucero" <lclucero@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>To: <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Saturday, May 24, 2008 2:39 PM Subject: easiest way to upgrade from AVG 7.5 to 8.0 Hi List, What is the easiest way to go from AVG 7.5 to 8.0?
