dvd grabbing software

Hi was looking for some information on a good software program that can be used
for getting mp3 files and downloadable dvd movies. I have had two sighted
friends recomend lime wire and a program called aires but to the best of my
knowledge there are no scripts for them so they don't work for us jfw users.
Look for some good help from fellow jfw users.
