It will keep your current settings such as voice and configuration, but
overwrite the script source files. Although part of the repair asks if you
want to remove your user settings. If you say no, remember even if it
replaces the script file in the all users settings enu, if you still have
one in your user settings enu folder, that is the one that will get loaded.
I mean that will only affect people who make script changes to the existing
jaws scripts, but it is just something to be aware of. I have got bit by it
several times now!
Although the way to do a repair has changed in Jaws 7.10. You don't have it
on the tools menu, you have to do it with the CD or the install file you
downloaded.

Hi Debbie,
I didn't see that when I tried it here.
Does the repair run top to bottom as if it were a clean install?

She could just run installation maintenance and choose the radio button for
a repair rather than uninstalling and reinstalling. Basically does the same
thing.

Hi Judith,
It sounds like the default locations were not used in the original
installation.
I would uninstall Jaws, and then re-install it, and let it put the files and
folders in the default locations.
The easiest wway to do this, would be to select automatic, from the choice
of installation options at the beginning of the installation process.
It doesn't sound like some type of display issue, but more like certain
files and folders are missing, at least from their default locations.
HTH,

Rick, I just did that but there was no separate jaws listing in the sub
folder. It had things like HJ pad, shortcut to tools 2,3,4, braille viewer
etc. When I just hit the applications on the entire folder I got no where.
