  Hi Judith,

You can create a new folder in Windows XP right on your Desktop. If JAWS
is reporting that something is selected on your Desktop, then first press
Control SpaceBar to unselect it. Then, Right Mouse Click on that blank spot on
your Desktop; you will get a menu, so cursor down to New and cursor right to
get the sub-menu and the first item will be Folder, so press Enter on it. Now,
type in the name you want for the new folder and press Enter.

The new folder will be on your Desktop, so you can now move it to
wherever you want it with the Cut and Paste commands, that is, if you want it
somewhere else rather than on your Desktop. Of course, this is assuming that
JAWS is reporting the Cut command, but that's another issue we've already
discussed.

      Hope this helps,

      Don
