Hi Tom

Yes, it's checked. When I do alt d, Jaws actaully speaks the address bar
but after that apears to be completed muted or disabled when on the bar.
Once I tab away, Jaws is back but acting strange.

Pete,
is your address bar checked in IE tools.

For some reason, mine got unchecked and went silent of course.

  Thanks Jerry

While I can use the jaws cursor to read it, as soon as I click on it, Jaws
stays silent until I tab off it. I.e. Read current line or copy to
clipboard doesn't happen or get spoken.

Greetings. I had a similar problem when my address bar was moved or
  otherwise changed.

If you have a sighted person handy, have them click once or twice on the
address bar and it will pop to its original position.

Or you can use the JAWS cursor to find it, and the left mouse button to
  click on it.
