These are not examples of software, but search engines. You type your query or subject matter in the edit field, press enter and the search returns with a bunch of links that refer to your subject. Sometimes the engine diverts to other topics but you can always arrow down past them and link to those links that you want. Yes, I agree. Google, yahoo, and all that. Of course, this assumes that the pool of information from which the program conducts its research is the internet. Is this software subject-specific? Is it specially-designed for something like periodicals or papers stored in some library? HOw, exactly does it work?
