You can schedule scans. Updates are pretty easy. First, it'll remind you, just as Norton always did. Second, any time you happen to be on the Web, just open the program and hit F9. If memory serves (and I set it up and have pretty well left it alone), you set up scans from the main control center. Furthermore, you can get a PDF copy of the user manual from the Web site.
