Simon, I would take a close look on the help topic, "Using JAWS and the
Internet". To do this:
1. Focus to the JAWS window with insert J.
2. Press F1 to open the JAWS help system.
3. In the contents tree view, press enter to open the book, "Using JAWS and the
Internet"
4. Read all the topics listed.
I can say, however, that navigating web pages is just like navigating a Word
document. So up and down moves you line by line, left and right character by
character, enter will activate links and form fields when focused on them, etc.
Hope that helps.

  Subject: advice wanted.

hi list, just got a demo of jaws 8.0 and can't seem to get anywhere in
navigating the web.
i am a hal user of many years, and there doesn't seem to be any logic to how
jaws navigates.
i have followed the surfs up guide, but can't seem to access the sample pages
when clicking on the links with jaws, no probs with hal.
also, when filling in form fields, jaws just keeps throwing me out saying
something like entering tables when i press any letter, i do go in to forms
mode, using xp sp2 and ie6.
can anyone explain to me where I'm going wrong?
  many thanks.
