I have used zap2it.com for several years with the text option. This option was great because the text included a description of each show or movie and the exact start time. There was also a star rating for each movie, with the number of stars giving a good idea of how good the movie was. Since I didn't want to access the site several times a day to update my TV schedule, I copied 6-hour blocks of text into MS Word and used Word's search function to look for programs on a favorite channel or at a certain time. Unfortunately, zap2it.com recently took this option away. Now there is only a grid that can't be seen by a screen reader. As a result, you now must access the link of any program to get the start time. If the movies still have star ratings, a screen reader can't detect them. I wrote to Feedback and asked that the text option be restored, but didn't get any reply. If any of you think this option would be useful to you, please do the same.

I like the descriptions on the TV-Now site, but they don't list several of my favorite channels such as the Science Channel and History International.

This site is good for just browsing, but I like to use zap2it.com for searching listings. Each show has its own heading.

Subject: accessible TV guide web sites that work with jaws8

Hi, can anybody recommend an accessible tv guide web site that works with jaws8? I tried going to tvguide.com, but after going to full TV listings, selecting my cable provider from the list, selecting the time and date that I wanted choosing the movie channel and then clicking on the custom view option, I am unable to see what time a selected movie plays at. I have also tried clicking on the link to the movie that I want to see to see if I can find a time there, but nothing happens.
Any help with this would be appreciated.
Sincerely,
Shai Wolman
