Can't you just do a say line command. (Jaws key +up arrow)

Good afternoon everyone. I am using Windows Vista Home premium
and Microsoft outlook. When I start a new message in outlook, I'll type
control N and the first letter of the person's name. But Jaws says
nothing. It won't even say the first letter of the person's name. In
order to make sure I'm e-mailing the right person, I have to tab and
shift-tab to get Jaws to say the name of the contact that I'm e-mailing.
Does anyone have a solution for this problem"
