Talking of which, my friend's experiencing a problem. When he inserted a CD into his computer, Winamp brought up some matches. He chose one, and clicked accept, but now he doesn't like it as it's too long for JAWS to read the entire file or playlist Winamp has generated. Unfortunately, when he re-inserts the CD it seems to be using the last selection. Does anyone know how this can be fixed? All help would be greatly appreciated. -- Chris Hallsworth e-mail: christopherh40@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx MSN: ch9675@xxxxxxxxxxx Skype: chrishallsworth7266 ----- Original Message ----- From: "Bissett, Tom" <tom.bissett@xxxxxxx> To: <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, March 04, 2009 2:52 PM Subject: RE: How to put Jaws asleep Instead of deleting the winamp jcf file you can edit it with notepad and change the setting from SleepMode=0 to SleepMode=1 Tom Bissett BMO Financial Group Technology and Operations Integrated Client Solutions Tel: (416) 549-6514 E-Mail tom.bissett@xxxxxxx<mailto:tom.bissett@xxxxxxx> ________________________________ From: jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Dave Carlson Sent: Tuesday, March 03, 2009 9:42 PM To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: How to put Jaws asleep well one way would be to find the Winamp.jcf file in your jaws\x.x\settings\enu folder and delete it. Then reconfigure as necessary. Someone else might have a better solution. I tried it with Winamp and now can't get the thing to undo. ----- Original Message ----- From: Dave Carlson<mailto:dgcarlson@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx<mailto:jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Tuesday, March 03, 2009 5:31 PM Subject: Re: How to put Jaws asleep JAWS+F2 will allow you to select the Configuration Manager. Once there you press Alt+s, then A for advanced. Then the first checkbox is for Sleep mode. Then press OK, then Alt+F, s to save, and then Alt+f4 to close the configuration manager. Then JAWS will be asleep whenever you launch that application. Other than that, the only other way to suspend JAWS is to press JAWS+Ctrl+s and select "no speech" from the list of synthesizers. I'd like to put JAWS asleep when S A Mobile starts. But, when I'm on the S A Mobile desktop, nothing happens when I press the JAWS key and f2; probably because I'm in another screen reader. Any thoughts? Check the sleep mode check box press enter to activate the ok button Close the configuration manager and say yes when it asks if you want to save the changes. from then on when the game is running JAWS will be silent. when you exit the game or alt+tab away from it JAWS will work normally.
