The point is, some ISP's block ftp servers or it also might be a setting in IE that prohibits that type from downloading. That's why they have tow links. Both have the same exact content which is obvious. And yes it's Celtic and also jaws hated it for the longest time. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Yardbird" <yardbird@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

Siobhan,
I of course noticed the difference in what they said, that way, but you
know, I've never understood what the difference is between two links like
that. I mean, by definition. What's the purpose of having some programs
available to download from one type of server, and others from an HTML Web
site? I mean, what's the basic purpose?

P.S. I just ran the cursor over your name character by character for the
first time, and was surprised, having assumed something very different from
hearing jaws pronounce it, even if jhaws is doing it okay. Is it Celtic?
With a hard C, of course?

Thanks.

It's just either an ftp or file download link from a server or http from the
webs site itself, either one works fine.

Subject: Which Jaws 8 to download?

I currently use Jaws 7, and I've decided to download and install Jaws 8
instead of waiting any longer for my SMA CD. Which is fine, considering
there seem to have been some patches and bug fixes since the CD was
burned.

However, on the Jaws 8 page, I can't figure out which of these two Jaws
for
XP links to use:

The heading says: Full Version of JAWS

Now, two links are given.

1. JAWS 8.0.423 for Windows XP/2000 November 2006 English ILM Release (59
MB - FTP download)

2. JAWS 8.0.423 for Windows XP/2000 November 2006 English ILM Release (59
MB - HTTP download)

these two listings sound identical to me. Does anyone know if there's
something I'm missing here that makes one of these distinct from the
other?

Thanks.
