Well, it is illegal as I understand the license agreement and the larger problem is that this is a very small and closed community. It would be really hard to get any JAWS updates from download.com. H-J is in control because you will, eventually, need to upgrade your JAWS version. Just bite the bullet and say "Mother may I".
