What I found over the weekend is that all the information is available through the programming interface of Visio, if anyone cares to develope such a program, it could tell you every shape, it's text, and how it connects to any other shapes. I wrote a little test VBA program in Visio and it listed for me all the shapes on the current page, their types and textual descriptions (thanks Peter for the test document). It would be doable, but much harder, to develope a program that let you create such a document via the programming interface. Still, I have some e-books on Visio, and some on VBA (but you can get to the Visio object model from any language) if anyone would like them. hth, Chip ------------------------------ Chip Orange Database Administrator Florida Public Service Commission Chip.Orange@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx (850) 413-6314 (Any opinions expressed are solely those of the author and do not necessarily reflect those of the Florida Public Service Commission.) ________________________________ From: jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Sean M McMahon Sent: Thursday, May 29, 2008 7:14 PM To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: Visio and JAWS Unless things have changed in the past 5 or so years, not verry workable. You can't just pick the shapes out of the menu. They could have added something like circle, triangle, for taggs to the menu items, but no. -- JFW related links: JFW homepage: http://www.freedomscientific.com/ Scripting mailing list: http://lists.the-jdh.com/listinfo.cgi/scriptography-the-jdh.com JFW List instructions: To post a message to the list, send it to jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send a message to jfw-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the word unsubscribe in the subject line.
