I have not found this to be the case. I've dropped new scripts and jgf
files in and they have taken effect immediately.

Well up to version 5 it was possible to make changes in the config files
and see the changes when done. However with version 5 you must shut down
jaws and restart for those changes to take effect. The scripts hold in
memory and don't release is why no update on the fly.
