This question was asked the other day and the answer suddenly dawned on me last night. The way I perceive the problem it goes like this: You get an email from your best friend. However before you get to the text you get the email addresses of that person's friends and it seems like the list includes everyone from their first grade teacher to all the politicians in the government! Here is what the sender can do to get rid of this monotony. When you open a blank email you first land on the "to" field. Tab once and you get to the "cc" field. This means carbon copy and that person or people get the same email you send to the first person. These are the addresses that show up in the email when the recipient opens their mail. Obviously this is what you want to avoid. Tab again and you land on the "bcc" or blind carbon copy field. The people listed in this box remain confidential and the recipient will never see them. Not only should everyone use this field when sending bulk mail but they should encourage their friends to do it also. Good luck, Judith -- To post a message to the list, send it to jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send a message to jfw-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the word unsubscribe in the subject line.
