Tom,

    I think your analysis of the cause of the problem is correct and
it was what I suspected.  I had been reading mail from a while back
that was giving members of one of the lists to which I belong problems
with someone inadvertently posting a very big message and I believe
other folks were inadvertently including the troublesome post in their
replies.  Thankfully,things with OE seem to be back to normal and the
list owner has taken steps so that hopefully the problem won't happen
again.
