Hi,

Go Back is a Symantec product. You would have to check the Symantec web site
for availability and price. Even if you purchase and install Go Back, it
will not help you with your problem. It will not find files that were
deleted and emptied from your recycle bin prior to installing the program.

Also, I don't think a system restore will solve your problem. System restore
is not typically used to restore data files that you have deleted. It is
mostly used to restore your system to a point in time after you installed
new programs or drivers or changed some other system setting.

Regards,

Ryan

Hello Again,

I tried the system restore like the file from the JFW lite site said and it
did not work. I tried to restore to two separate dates and during the reboot
process, I got an error saying the system could not be restored to either of
the two dates. I made sure that there were restore points for the dates and
it did not restore.

I also went to the blind programming site and downloaded the scripts for go
back but could not find the link to download go back. Do you know where I
can get it? Also, would go back help me retrieve files that were lost prior
to installing the program?

Take care,

John

Offhand, I don't know. Another program, Go Back with the scripts at
www.accessibleprograms.com, has file restoration and a system reversion. I
don't know from where I got Go Back, Roxio or Symantec.

Thank you for this document. Do you know if system restore will take me back
to a point when my files were not deleted?

Take care,

John

Subject: System Restore

Hello,

I am using JFW 7.1 and windows XP home edition and have lost some important
files and my recycle bin properties are set too small to have stored the
files so i am in trouble. My question is does anyone know how to use system
restore and can you walk me through it?

If this is better handled off list, please feel free to email me.

Take care,

John
