rs> Just downloaded the latest version of Skype, version 3.5. is this the
best
version to use with jaws 7.1?

jg> yes this is the best version to use. as far as accessiblity. useability
of course is subjective.

rs>Any problems installing skype? Such as what to turn on, off, or things to

not install.
jg> none relating to jaws. there are some relating to internet explorer 6.
considering the fact that it does not relate to jaws if you are using
internet explorer six and need more information feel free to email me
privatly.

rs>Are the jaws scripts for Skype really that necessary?
jg> this is another subjective question. if you want a quick way to move
from tab to tab within skype, if you want to know who is going on line, if
you want a easy contact list to use, if you are going to use text chat, and
want your messages to be read automagicly, if you want a means of rereading
messages like you have within windows live, if you want to press one key
and find out which of your contact are on line, if you want to here alerts
as to who is calling you, who is requesting your contact details, then yes
they are needed.
if none of these thing are of interest to you then no they are not.
ok considering you did not ask for tips after setup I am going to give you
information you did not ask for.
once you have skype installed and set up with your user name etc. press alt
v. now press the letter a. check all the items in this menu. this will
be very helpful.
