I digress a bit from the topic here, but I've occasionally noticed that the Jaws cursor will not read the text on certain Web pages where the Virtual cursor will. Also, the reverse has sometimes been the case. I'm sure that it's my lack of understanding of the specific nature of the Jaws and Virtual cursors that has me in the dark. At any rate, this thread has been helpful in answering one of my own personal reflections which was on how to copy text with the Jaws cursor which I previously thought was impossible. Again, why the Jaws cursor reads nothing but a blank screen on certain pages where the virtual cursor reads fine is a total mystery to me. The same for the reverse. I missed the beginning of this thread. Could someone give me an example of the type of Web site where only the Jaws cursor can find text on the page? This isn't am experience I've run into in the course of my own daily use of the Web. Thanks. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jerry Neufeld" <jerry.neufeld@xxxxxxxxxx> To: <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, April 11, 2005 6:29 AM Subject: Re: selecting text seen by jaws curser only? Hello folks. With regard to selecting text seen only by the Jaws cursor, two years or so ago, Jamal Mazrui wrote some excellent scripts that do this very thing. They are extraordinarily useful, I having integrated them in my default scripts shortly after they appeared. If I recall correctly, Jamal's web site is called either TheEmpowermentZone or just EmpowermentZone.com. Perhaps, if Jamal is aboard, he will be good enough to help you with this. I would prefer that he handle this since the creativeness and scripts belong entirely to him, a very heads-up programmer. Good luck.
