My home PC has a small virus checker that is integrated into the mainboard (I don't recall if it is "Panda Platinum") but it is *very* basic, checking only for boot sector viruses during the power on self test (POST). I guess it just checks to be sure that the boot sector hasn't gotten changed. I can, turn it off in the BIOS setup options. Since it runs during POST, it is done and out of the way before my normal virus software loads and runs. I suspect that other mainboard-based virus checkers behave much the same way. -----Original Message----- From: Sean McMahon [mailto:smcmahon@xxxxxxxx] Sent: Monday, April 12, 2004 11:23 AM To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: Panda Antivirus Platinum? A system can only have one anti-virus active and installed. If you have Norten licenced already and it'll be good for as long as panda will, uninstall panda and install Norten. What to you mean the antivirus is part of the motherboard? Motherboards are the hardware of the computer they do things before Windows starts. ----- Original Message ----- From: "D. J.
