Cheers, I'll try that. You can use jaws to left double click the link as follows: Route jaws to pc then cursor around until you find the link then simply press the left mouse button twice quickly. On my machine, at least, this has the same affect as a double left mouse click and the web site opens every time. This action became necessary only about 6 weeks ago--I don't know why exactly except it does appear to be some kind of security issue. I believe in my case it is a McAfee-related update to their program but it could also be microsoft or i/e 7 related as the extra steps seem to be associated with I/E 7 but then there are constant hot fixes being downloaded and installed plus anti-virus updates so difficult to pin down exactly what caused links not to open from within e-mails. I hope my solution works for you. Try having a sighted person double click on the link and see if that takes you to the web site. ----- Original Message ----- From: kevin blenheim To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Monday, January 29, 2007 2:52 PM Subject: PROBLEMS IN READING LINKS CONTAINED IN E-MAILS Good evening I use Jaws 4.5 and Internet Explorer (6), my operating system being Windows 98SE. I'm experiencing difficulties in accessing links from e-mails, for example links within e-mails from the BBC news service open but Jaws tells me that the page is blank (I know that this is not the case as text is on screen). On going into the BBC site I don't experience such problems and I'm able to read information. Can anyone advise on what is happening here please? Is Jaws 4.5 compatible with Internet Explorer (6)? Thanks Kevin
