Yes, you are exactly right in your assumption, and yes I have used those 
other cursors.  I would still like to disable this feature of the Microsoft 
operating system, if only on my computer alone, since it interferes with the 
running of some of my other programs like my OCR software package 
finereader7.0.
When this send or don't send message pops up on the screen, none of my other 
automatic messages of my software package are read until I stop every thing 
and tend to it, and a few minutes later, there it is again with the same 
results.  I have just learned to switch off my audio until I have finished 
my scan, then deal with the problem once and for all for that session of 
scanning.  Unfortunately, in the meantime I miss the progress messages I 
would ordinarily get during the scanning process.
