I don't see any reason why could not download the new version without
having
aprevious version; it might be just a different link. I realize you were
writing this to Allen but was hoping I could also be of assistance. Also,
were you the one asking about whether people used this software since it's
free? That is certainly a pluss although I too am running the Norton
software as well as AVG. You can never have too much protection I guess
(especially since I like to download music and stuff like that.) Take

I've upgraded to the newest free AVG, version 7.5.428.
Find the installation file at:
http://free.grisoft.com/doc/5390/lng/us/tpl/v5
and run it and in the process of the installation, after the accept
button,
tab to next, and there, choose repair installation and tab to next and
there
chose restart my computer and after the reboot, you will have your new Avg
free version.
There are some new interesting elements in the email scanner properties in
the control center of the AVG program.
