Hi, this is true how ever nerater will not effect the installation of =
jaws
it does not use one of the system components the jaws setup program =
needs to
update so it is safe to run nerater while installing jaws if you wish.
There is no need to do this I usually keep nherater running tell I get =
to
the first screen of the jaws setup where a next button is available then =
I
exit nerater.=20

JFW advises to shut down antivirus programs when you put in your=20
authorization disk, not for the installation of JFW itself. It does =
advise=20
to shut down screen reading and magnification programs. It tells you =
this=20
when you first insert the CD.

Subject: Narrator & JFW Installation

Hi All,

My office computer has recently crashed, but should hopefully have a new
hard drive in the next day or so. Recent traffic on this List has me a =
bit
confused about the installation of JAWS. Some folks are saying that the
JAWS software will talk you through everything, while others have =
suggested
using narrator. I can see where the JAWS software can guide you through
most of the set up, but what if anti-virus software is running? Members =
on
this List have said that such software would need to be unloaded. Thus,
wouldn't narrator be needed for this?

Now, if it is a good idea to use narrator, can someone advise me as to =
how
the program is used? I'm thinking Narrator can be loaded by pressing =
the
Windows Key and the letter "u", is that correct? Would I then just use =
the
arrow keys to read the screen? Are there any menus involved? In short, =
any
tips for using Narrator would be greatly appreciated.

THANKS!
Katrina
