Be sure that
1. view is set to Normal
2. Both application and document are maximized
3. Font is something reasonable--not Batang or something equally creative
4. Zoom is set to pagewidth or 75 percent
5. Font size is at least ten
My guess is that view is not normal; but neither am I, so Who am I to say?
