Yeah, you are right. I am using two commercial softwares to do those task: disk cleanup, disk defragmenter, cleaning registry, and more cleaning, tweaking and optimization tools for my PC. Which is effective: the commercial software to do those task or should I use Windows built-in softwares to do those said task? ----- Original Message ----- From: David ingram To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Wednesday, October 15, 2008 9:24 AM Subject: MAINTENANCE for computer not jaws. hi how are you? if you have not done the following please do as soon as you can. 1. Disk clean-up This is what you first use in order to clean out your temporary files from different places. 2. Disk defragmenter This tool defragments your hard drive What the disk defragmenter tool does is to put all your files closer together because over time program files and other things have become scattered on your hard drive and the disk defragmenter puts files closer together so that when you need a program it can be accessed faster. 3. check disk What the check disk does is to make sure that there are not any lost clusters and it also checks to make sure that all the needed files are on your system to make sure that your computer is opperating at the maximum 4. Antivirus program If you have one of these types of programs, you won't get a virus if you update the program on a consistant basis 5. registry programs are good to make sure that you clean up your registry 6. internet security is another thing that you should have I'm not sure what program to suggest if you don't have one 6. Supper anti spyware is an excellent program that actually prevents spy ware from entering your computer
