Ah, their website made it appear as though you *needed* their software. Well that just makes it mountains easier.

Here is how I use it. Firstly before I get started you will have to have a last.fm account. If you want to scrobble the tracks you listen to for the weekly charts and the data that you can extrapulate from your listening habbits, you will need a winamp plugin. I found this listed in a forum thred on the last fm site, and this is the one I use in winamp. After installation, enter your last.fm username and password in the plugin[eather in general purpose or media library, mind is failing me!]

If you use another media player, here is the list with the plugins, note that, you need to be registered before you can use these, and you will have to enter your last.fm username and password before it will start scrobbling tracks somewhere. I've never used any other media player

For listening to last.fm, there is a way, though it's a little clunky IMO. It's actually a really cool idea, programmed by someone in the UK I believe.

There's documentation on that site. You have access to all the popular tags stations, as well as similar artist radio, and other stuff. You may be able to find another way of listening using
http://build.last.fm
which is a reference area for 3rd party players and other stuffs.

Hope this helps, and if you want to add me to your last fm friends:

Subject: Last.fm, anyone using it?

I've been tossing around the idea of getting in on the last.fm scene, but a first look at their software changed my mind, at least temporarily. Has anyone managed to get it to work with JFW? If so, any hints in doing so? Admitedly I didn't take a whole lot of time to fight with it, but it didn't look like it was going to be easily made accessible. Help would be appreciated!
