I have a question If a person has version 6.1 and one s m a. Must the s m
a be used for a mid upgrade or fix, like 6.2 or may it be used for a full
upgrade like 7.0?

Let's say one had another SMA remaining but decided they didn't want to use
it for version 7 so decided to save it for JAWS version 8.
I'm quite certain you would find that when you got to version 8 that the
skipped SMA you had saved from version 7 would no longer be available to you
as a free upgrade.
With FS you have to buy into each and every upgrade so that means you will
have to pay for them sooner or later as long as you continue to be a JAWS
user.

To elaborate a little on what Jim said, you go to "about" under "help",
and one of the things it will say is you have so-and-so many SMA's
remaining. If this number is higher than zero, you are entitled to JAWS 7.
This has often not been accurate under the Quela authorization scheme, but
under ILM it has been accurate.

No need to upgrade window messenger is just fine you will have no
problems with people running msn messenger 7.
