A couple of steps not mentioned in this thread: 1. when creating a hotkey, make sure you tab to "apply" and press enter, then tab to OK and press enter. 2. Reboot. Several people in the past have questioned the need to reboot, but in my experience it seems to make the difference. ----- Original Message ----- From: Mike & Barbara To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Wednesday, March 11, 2009 7:53 PM Subject: Re: Jaws hot key not working Hi Dave, The hot key is showing correctly but, just not working andJaws 10.x is the only version of Jaws on her computer. Sometimes it is replaced with the Tab character when you Tab away from the field. Also make sure you don't have another version of JAWS on the desktop with the same hot key assigned. When she unloads Jaws with the Insert + F4 key stroke, then tries to restart with control, alt, + J keystroke nothing happens. She then has to reboot the computer to get Jaws running again. What are we doing wrong. She is running XP Pro & Jaws 10.x. All advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks much. Take care.
