Don't feel bad, Dale. It's easy to forget stuff when one hasn't used it in awhile.

Thank you alan, Michael, Russ and Valerie,

Alan you were quite right, I thought that was the place but only noticed the volume control values and missed the other tabs altogether. Like you say, one of those things, you set it once then forget it and hopefully one does not set up a computer too many times.

Now I do feel silly, a veteran of many years.

Beliveve it or not, it's in the control pannel, under sounds. Not under
system or anything to do with hardware, just ...sounds. Sometimes the
simplest things are the hardest to remember. <grin>

This is questionably on topic except that it assists access as does Jaws.

I have this new Acer notebook computer and I cannot find the item where one
links sounds to Windows events. This has XP Home. The organization of things

here is rather odd.

If anyone can help me locate it or remember the name so I can search for it
I would appreciate it.

Thanks.
Dale Leavens.
