Carmen, You may be experiencing something I've found i n Outlook 2007. The headers do not align properly, or JAWS is not gaining proper focus. No solution, except to do a restore and then a maximize of your screen to get things back in proper alignment. Then the header fields all read okay. If you happen to be using Outlook Express, then you need to open your view menu and select "all headers" when you have an open message. I did try doing alt 1 to hear the from field and Jaws just says "press twice to edit. I'm able to press alt 2 where Jaws tells me when the e-mail was sent but alt 5 doesn't read the subject line to me. I don't think that alt 6 reads the subject line, I've always used alt 5. I might take you up on calling you to see if you might be able to help me. Knowing me I probably pressed a keystroke while doing something and might have pressed something by mistake because I never had this sort of thing happen to me before. I got so used to hearing the from field as well as the subject field. I've tried going through the Config manger to see if I might have changed something by mistake but it doesn't look like anything has changed. I will talk to you later about this matter. If you press alt-1 or alt-6 twice, it will put your cursor into the respective field, from or subject. As for your second question, if you would like you can call me at the help desk here and I can go on with JAWS tandem if you like and see what you are talking about regarding e-mail messages.
