I'm a little late replying, but oh well. It's not just *your* antivirus that needs fixing. If someone else's is doing the same thing, or if in some cases some email clients will add a little something extra to the message I never could find, then JFW will do the same. And that's any version, not just 7 or 8... people have had this complaint on this list since at least 6 if not earlier. But it's not specific to JFW... some webmail clients will report an atachment too that I can't find, and it's all about how the email's been received/processed. Like I said, it's not a JAWS issue, but rather how the email client in question sees the email, and what JFW therefore picks up from that email client. If Outlook tells JAWS there's an atachment, JAWS will tell you. So if you're seeing atachments where there shouldn't be, it may not be because your instalation of JAWS is broken, but rather Outlook or whichever email client is giving you the problem is on crack.

Jaws still must have some role in the problem though Joseph. I've fixed my AVG here so that those false attachment messages no longer appear. Well they still do occasionally so I believe that Jaws is misreading something at times with the email message. Under some email clients, you would notice that the attachment is being scanned. This is because some online email clients, as webbl as email programs like Outlook with antivirus plug-in, it will scan the attachments and it will give you the message that says whether the file is infected or not (I'm thankful that Bruce has reminded me about virus scan). So Marsha, the statement about attachment is not a JAWS problem, whether, it is the duty of the email client (AntiVirus programs to be exact) to ensure that the attachments that you get are not infected.
