Hi
I am not one who constantly complains about Jaws. Perhaps that could be
because I don't know how to use a lot of its functions. It seems though
that 8 has proven to be the exception.

This is because you would lose certain functionality with JAWS 8.0. There
used to be a setting under 7.1 that allowed JAWS to render websites using
the method that 7.0 used to use. Although I agree that DOM is useful for
accesibility purposes, it renders websites in a way that JAWS cannot
interact with it. Also, some JAWS functionality would be lost or gets
changed, including Speech and Sounds Scheme, some incorrect rendering of
website text using Screen Layout, and so on.
