Set your back ground to none. Set your screen saver to none. In system
under performance set your video card to best performance. Then it will
not matter if you are using classic or xp desktop jaws should read fine.

Debbie, I'm using the windows classic scheme, and I'm using Windows
standard
colors. I also tried the windows xp scheme as well. I'm using the
bliss
background, and the stretch position, with a normal font.

What appearance color scheme are you using?

JAWS can't read menus when the Windows XP Silver appearance scheme is
used.

Subject: Jaws 5.10 and Menus

I have recently installed, Jaws 5.10, and Windows Xp service pack 2. I
have noticed, that if I hit the alt key, to bring up the menu bar, it
won't read the menus. I can't use my up and down arrows to get into the
menus, or my right and left arrows, to look at the menu bar. I have to
use my Jaws cursor, or use a short cut key to get into a menu, such as,
alt-f for file. I think I have all the display settings set correctly.

Just wondering, if there's something I'm not thinking of.

Earle
