JAWS taking a long time to start

Hi, this is Steve. I am using XP home with JAWS5.1. I have someone here, and
when I boot my computer, the screen says to enter my password, at least a
minute before JAWS starts. Sure enough, I can enter my password, while
waiting for JAWS. What can I do to have JAWS come more quickly? That seems
like an awful long time, thank you.
