It seems to me that there is an inordinately large number of programs
loading up on my Dell. It came that way and I have gone through the list and
eliminated a truck load of useless tripe which Dell was so kind to include.

Yes, this can very from machine to machine, depending on what drivers are
loading up it and keep in mind that things like the sound card driver need
to be loaded well before JAWS starts to use it to talk.
