Hi! A trainee of mine has attempted to change some text processing settings using insert 6 within Word. He can't remember what exactly he did, but the result is that JAWS is now mute inside Word. It speaks normally everywhere else. It's not a temporary thing, as I had him restart the PC twice without success. Can anyone imagine what could have gone wrong or how to fix it? There doesn't seam to be a Word-jcf file in his JAWS directory, which should, i think, make JAWS resort to the default.jcf, but apparently it does not. We've been through the default.jcf and it's perfectly normal. To my knowledge there isn't a setting anywhere, that mutes JAWS permanently for a particular application. Or is there?
I'd be really grateful for any advice.
