I am sorry but it does not read the number of red messages just the number
of messages in that folder

Hi,
You can do this by using the read status line command. This is the Jaws key
plus the page down key (or the Jaws key plus the three key on the numeric
keypad).
This will read the total number of messages in your folder plus the number
of unread messages.
