Ask the person to press insert+s. What does he hear: if he hears all then it means the screen echo was on highlighted, and so you can then go ahead and check the display settings. If, however, jaws announces none or highlighted when pressing insert+s it means the screen echo is not on highlighted. You can change the screen echo permanently in the configuration manager. Let me know if you need instructions on how to do this . -----Original Message----- From: jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Ray Campbell Sent: 19 April 2007 11:38 PM To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: JAWS 6.2 Not Reading Menus When Using Up and Down Arrow keys Hello All: I got a call today from someone running JAWS 6.2 on a Windows XP Home Edition machine. When he tries accessing menus such as the view menu in Outlook Express and others, he doesn't hear anything when pressing the up and down arrow keys. I've suggested he call FS about this, but I also wanted to post a question here to see if anyone had ideas of why he's not hearing anything when arrowing up and down the menus. I know there is a fix for this, but I can't remember how to do it.
