Hi Chris, Steve, & Dewey,

Try the steps below.
Go to your desktop and hit the tab key until you are on the start button.
Hit the application key and select properties or press the keystroke Alt + 
enter for properties. Use the ctrl/tab key to select task bar page. There is 
a check box there that you need to make sure
is unchecked. The name is hide inactive icons.  Hope this helps.  Take care.
