He said tools/options/general. That's the tab marked General in the series
of multiple options pages. If you don't land on General when you first
open
the Options, press control tab to move from tab to tab until you land on
General. If Jaws isn't speaking those tab names, stop at each one and tab,
then if you hear the words Highlights or the next item, bookmarks, you're
on
the General tab, and tagbb down until you come to a check box for the
sounds. If you happen to feel like experimenting and turning this on or
off,
don't forget to press OK at the bottom of that tab to reset Word and close
the Options menus.

Something very odd has started in Word XP. Whenever I open, save or do
many other commands within Word I hear some very strange sounds, as if
somebody has added audio information, little hums, buzzes, a door
closing
upon a save, they all sound intentional, but I do not want them and
cannot
figure if JFW is causing something to happen of I fat fingered something
and cannot figure it out.
