Well, since I am totally out of my depth here, I have no idea what I should do. It all sounds rather complicated. I have a Dell laptop but for some reason Jaws doesn't seem to want to install properly when we tried to install it. It wouldn't talk when we turned it on no matter what we tried. I thought this would be a good solution to have it on a thumb drive as I thought I could take it anywhere and just plug it in and use it. Apparently, that is not the case. If anyone has any suggestions as to what my best course of action is, I would welcome them. Otherwise, I guess I will be without a computer for the time I am away. Remember if you do not have a USB dongle for authorization Jaws for Windows will only run in 40 minute demo mode. If you plan to use Jaws for Windows for longer than 40 minutes you may want to acquire a USB dongle for authorization. If you do this remember you will need 2 USB ports one of them for the dongle and the other one for the thumb drive. I hope this helps. Could someone send me detailed instructions as to how to do this? What sort of thumb drive do I need and what do I need to do? If I understand it right, when Jaws is installed on the thumb drive, I just plug it into a USB port and it is ready to use? I'm sorry to be so uninformed but if I don't ask, I won't learn. If anyone wishes to reply directly please feel free to do so. Thank you for the help. Katherine
