In the text settings there is also a List Items combo box. Have you played
around with that, as well?

I have not been able to get Jaws to automatically announce the item number in
lists. In verbosity, I turn on Item number. And in Text processing, . I turn
on
  Speak Item State First
  Speak Window Type First
  Speak Window State First.

    It still does not work.

I have to do something like Jawskey + up arrow to read the line again to
hear what item number I am on.

    Maybe this is a bug.

    Hi,
Why does JAWS read the indexes (eg 1 of 20) only when the item is "not
selected" or when I tab and go back with shift +tab? How could I get it to
allways say it when I am browsing some list with the arrow keys?
