Hi Nancy,
This is a useful number, thanks. And I'm glad someone else finds it
annoying to go to a doctor to get proof of disability. Another free method
for finding someone's number is the online white pages at ATT. I'm an ATT
customer, but I believe this website is available to the general public.
The address is:
http://www.anywho.com/wp.html?id=AWwp
You can even do a reverse look-up on this site. That is, if caller ID lists
a number and no name, you can look up the number from the "reverse" look-up
link on this website. You don't always get an answer, depending on whether
the number's owner is listed and so on, but sometimes you do.

I just paid $3.49 a piece for 2 DA (directory assistance) calls because I'm
totally blind and my husband oftentimes cannot find numbers in the phone
book because of his visual impairment. Wish I had had this info then!
Phone companies are charging us $1.00 or more for 411 / information calls.
When you need to use 411, simply dial 1 800 FREE 411 or 1 800 373 3411
without incurring a charge at all except for the minutes required to make
the call
if you are using a cell phone.
This is information people don't mind receiving, so please let others know.
Program this number into your CELL and start getting FREE information.
DO NOT DIAL 411 anymore.
This works for land lines and cell lines.
