.INI generally indicates an initialization file. But desktop.ini seems to
appear sometimes in random directories and folders. Deleting it will not hurt
at all as this file is completely pointless.
If you're not sure though, move it to the Recycle bin.

  Subject: Fileswith dot I n I extentions

  Greetings everyone:
when I go too into my documents from the desk top, when I arrow through down
the list of files with in it, I see some thing called desktop dot i n i.
can someone please tell me what an i n i extention means? is it supposed to
be there?? or should I be concerned about it.
  Thank's for any assistance
