Hi Chris,
I had similar problems subscribing to the list earlier this year. I
discovered that the problem was due to Outlook removing extra line breaks in
plain text messages. If your friend subscribes, when he receives the email
message asking him to reply to confirm, what he needs to do is turn on the
Jaws cursor and go to the top of the email message and arrow down looking
for a line that says "Outlook has removed extra line breaks in this
message", place the Jaws cursor on this text and do a left mouse click. He
will then be given the choice to restore the extra line breaks, and he
should do this. He can then reply to the message and all should be fine.
