Well, I'm not trying to be patronizing, but please tell us in your own words precisely what you did. Freelists is a little bit weird this way, so please tell us precisely what you did.

Nothing to do with the admin. The word unsubscribe is treated as a command to 
the list server to remove you. Something's wrong with what you're doing.
 
Only the word unsubscribe should be there, no RE: no FWD:
 
plain text message only.
 
Don't reply to a message, start from scratch. Here's the text at the bottom of 
most of our messages:
 
To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send a message to 
jfw-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the word unsubscribe in the subject line.
