If you want to use windows media player you need to change the file
association.
You need to open the properties of the cd player and go to auto play.
In the list you need to find music cd and change what program opens when the
disk is inserted and tell it do always do the selected action each time this
type of disk is used.

With sighted assistance I discovered that for some reason Window's Media
Player 11 will not output sound when a DVD is played.
The computer came with Dell's Media Direct which will start with the enter
key but I can't figure out how to do anything else.
I searched the Dell.com site and found nothing useful.
Does anyone use this Dell program? Really all I need is pause, rewind and
fast forward to get by since enter starts a dvd I think.
If I close the program and then go back to the DVD it starts where it was
when I exited Any help greatly appreciated.
The keys given for Power DVD don't seem to work so I assume that is a
different program.
