  Ann,

I use MS-Word as the intermediary.
I am using MS word 2003

Paste your text to an open MS-Word document. done
Make sure all the text is highlighted done.
  In Word 2003 Alt+A, v, x (This is tables, convert, Text-to-table). done
In Word 2007 it's the same keystrokes, but you can use the ribbon if you're
comfortable with it.
I get tables styles in use and see no delimited field
went to all table, user defined tables and did not get delimited field.
There is a check box for rows and columns
Select auto-format and select the space character as the column delimiter.
Again no delimited field Only check boxes
  I am Using Windows 6.0
category states that table styles in use so went into user defined and tabbed
around no luck.
Make sure you tab around in the dialog and check the number of columns that
Word is anticipating. Change this if it's not what you expected.
  I changed to15

  Press OK.
  You'll get a table
Select the entire table and copy.
Paste into an open Excel sheet.

The first time you do this, it's likely you'll find that things don't work as
expected,so prepare to play around a lot with the original text file.

It works better if the columns are delimited with a tab character, as spaces
can be in the body of a cell.

  Dave

    Hi Everyone,
Windows Firewall creates a PFirewall.Log file which can be opened by
Notepad. This file tracks what is going on within my desktop. I would like to
have each column go into a separate column in another application such as word
or excel so I can sort, summarize and follow data on a specific column. This
report has date, time, action, protocol, SRC-IP, SRC-Port, DST-Port.
Each column is separated by a space. Does anyone know how I can use Jaws
to import this text file so that each column on text report can go into a
separate column in Excel?
I think this term is called delimiting. Presently, when I copy the entire
report to clipboard and paste into Excel all columns go into first column.
Thanks,
    Ann
